To add or modify a database file, click the Add or Modify button of the Add/Modify a client configuration file dialog box.
Adding a database file allows you to work with individually the files that do not comply with the default parameters: DB default, and *DFT (AS/400) or *DFT (Btrieve).
Data entry
Warning: The values entered in these fields are not checked.
Name
Name of the file.
In the case of a Data Area, specify the extension ".ARA".
Mandatory entry.
Dir/Lib
Name of a directory or library containing the file specified in the "Name" field.
Default values can be specified: *LIBL or *CURRENT.
Mandatory entry for the "*DFT (AS/400)" and "*DFT (Btrieve)" files.
For other files, this field can be left blank. Reference will then be made to the "*DFT (AS/400)" and "*DFT (Btrieve)" line parameters.
IP address
IP address of the PC workstation on which the Btrieve server or the AS/400 server was started.
If this field is left blank, the server which was started on the workstation is used.
Note: If you click the Btrieve radio button and specify the IP address 0.0.0.0, the application will work directly on a Btrieve file, without you having to start a Btrieve server, therefore not using the TCP/IP protocol.
Port
Port associated with the Btrieve or AS/400 server.

AS/400
The specified file is browsed by an AS/400 database server.

Enter (validation)
This button validates the choices made and closes the dialog box.
Cancel
This button closes the dialog box without validating the choices made.
