French version

During communications between Adelia Studio and an AS/400, Adelia automatically converts ASCII characters into EBCDIC characters and vice-versa.

However, certain special characters (EBCDIC 5B, 7B and 7C) that are used to define IBM "valid names" on the AS/400, may have different transcriptions depending on the EBCDIC codepages.

The transcription of these characters is stored in the ADELIWS.INI file of the ADELIWS directory.

In the Adelia Studio English version, this file contains characters corresponding to the EBCDIC codepage equal to 037 (USA), i.e. "$", "#" and "@".

If your AS/400 codepage is different (see the QCHRID system value), then you must change those three characters. Please refer to the following table to determine what codes you have to enter:

Example: If your AS/400 codepage is 285 (United-Kingdom), you have to switch characters from $#@ to £#@.

Note: Those characters are used interactively throughout Adelia Studio.
