To access this dialog box, click on the Add button or select the Add option from the contextual menu in the list of a component's dependencies in the Component's dependencies tab.
This interface is used to choose the component dependencies to add to the component.
Available dependencies
Radio buttons
Pgm/Classes
Only Programs/Classes-type components which do not already define a dependency on the component are displayed in the list.
Messages
Only Messages-type components which do not already define a dependency on the component are displayed in the list.
Entered information
Filter
This filter is used to limit the display of components.
It can be made up of numbers, letters or "?" (to replace any character) or "*" (to replace a group of characters) wildcard characters.
A contextual menu is used to choose from the last four filters entered and the predefined characters [] (no object displayed) and * (all objects displayed).
List
This list displays the components which do not already define a dependency on the component and which meet the display criteria (filter and component type).
The name and description are presented for each component.
The components selected in this list may be moved to the list of dependencies to add to the component using the > button or the contextual menu.
Alternate ascending and descending sorting in each column is obtained by clicking on them.
Dependencies to add to the component
Location
These check boxes are used to define the location of the dependencies to add.
Client box checked
A Client-type dependency location means that the user wishes to define dependencies between client-generated compatible platform artifacts only.
Server box checked
A Server-type dependency location means that the user wishes to define dependencies between server-generated compatible platform artifacts only.
Client and Server boxes checked
A Client/Server- type dependency location means that the user wishes to define dependencies between client and server-generated compatible platform artifacts only.
To be derived box checked
A To be derived-type dependency location means that the user lets the build determine the dependencies between the artifacts using generation information (calls between programs, use of classes or error messages).
After the current component build, this location becomes Client (derived), Server (derived) or Client/Server (derived) type and will be recalculated at each new build.
Caution:
A derived dependency location can be incorrect due to a lack of information.
Dynamic program calls (via the CALL &Variable instruction) do not allow dependencies to be derived.
List
This list displays the components chosen to be added as dependencies to the component.
The type (Pgm/Classes or Messages), name and description are presented for each component.
The selected components may be removed from this list and restored in the list of available dependencies using the < button or contextual menu.
Alternate ascending and descending sorting in each column is obtained by clicking on them.
