To work with repository management rules, choose one of the following:
The Management rules tab of the Object manager.
The Management rules option from the Repository menu of the Conceptual Data Model.
The Use option from the context-sensitive menu of the Repository - Management rules dialog box in the 4GL Editor.
The list only displays the management rules which are visible in the current application area, i.e. all the environment's public management rules and all the application area's private management rules.

Lists
Management rules
List of management rules of the repository.
The sort sequence can be defined by clicking the column headers of the list.
A filter located above the list can be used to limit the management rules displayed.
Extended-selection list.
With correction environments, there may be a check mark in front of each management rule name.
A red check mark shows that the management rule is being held by the default correction.
A black check mark shows that the management rule is being held by a correction other than the default correction.
Context-sensitive menu / Buttons
The following options are accessible via the context-sensitive menu or via buttons, depending on wether the dialog box is opened via the CDM's repository, the 4GL Editor, or the Object manager.
If the dialog box is opened via the Object manager, the buttons present in the window will depend on the settings in the Create/Modify a software engineer dialog box's Preferences tab.
Note: if a source code repository is configured for the environment or for the current user, the list is enriched with a graphic indication of the synchronization state, and the menu shows additional options.

Create
This option opens a dialog box which is used to create a management rule.
Modify
This option opens a dialog box which is used to display or modify the general characteristics of the selected management rule.
This option is not active when no management rule is selected in the list.
Copy
This option opens a dialog box which is used to copy a management rule of the current application area.
This option is not active when no management rule is selected in the list.
Delete
This option opens a message box which is used to confirm the final deletion of the selected management rules.
When the deletion is validated, the list of management rules is updated accordingly.
This option is not active when no management rule is selected in the list.
This option prints the description of the selected management rules.
The printing job is submitted to the Job manager.
This option is not active when no management rule is selected in the list.
Real use
This option opens a dialog box displaying all the programs which actually use the management rule.
This option is not active when no management rule is selected in the list.
Potential use
This option opens a dialog box displaying all the programs which may potentially use a management rule.
This option is not active when no management rule is selected in the list.
Objects
This option opens a dialog box displaying all the objects to which the management rule is assigned.
This option is not active when no management rule is selected in the list.
Sublist
This option opens a dialog box which is used to modify the management rules' selection criteria and, as a result, the current list.
Initially, all the management rules are by default displayed in the list. This option is used to restrict the contents of the repository's management rules list by reinitializing it with new criteria.
Hold
This option opens a dialog box enabling the selected management rules to be held by the default correction.
This option is only visible in correction environments.
It is only active when one or more management rules are selected in the list and the user has a default correction.
The two following buttons are only visible if the dialog box is opened via the CDM or via the 4GL editor.
Enter
This button closes the dialog box.
Keyboard shortcut: Esc.
Print list
This button prints the list of the repository's management rules.
