Most of the options from the Program menu open an Input help dialog box in which each tab corresponds to an option. This dialog box remains visible at all times, displayed over the 4GL Editor.
The options in this menu will vary, according to the source type in the active window:
interactive Adelia program (ADELIA),
batch Adelia program (ADELIA).
General characteristics
This option opens a dialog box displaying the general characteristics of the program in the active window.
The box will be opened in display mode only; to modify any characteristics, you must use the Object manager.
Individual comparison
This option opens the Individual comparison dialog box.
This dialog box is used to compare the source in the active window with the source of another program (from either the same or a different environment).
Data flow
This option opens a dialog box that lets you modify the data flow for the data in the program in the active window.
Transactions
This option opens a dialog box displaying a list of the transactions in the program in the active window.
This option is only available for interactive ADELIA programs.
Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + N
Reports
This option opens a dialog box displaying a list of the report layouts for the program in the active window.
This option is only available for batch ADELIA programs.
Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + E
Logical data model
This option opens a dialog box displaying a list of the logical objects used in the program in the active window.
Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + M
Control breaks
This option opens a dialog box that lets you work with the breaks in the program in the active window.
This option is only available for batch ADELIA programs.
Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+T.
Variables
This option opens a dialog box that lets you work with the work variables in the program in the active window.
Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + B
Views
This option opens a dialog box that lets you define the views for the program in the active window.
Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+U.
Verify
This option runs a full check on the program in the active window. The window's bottom pane displays the verification report, which contains:
a description of any errors,
the number of errors per severity level,
a context-sensitive menu that lets you position to errors, open management rules, and save or print the report.
Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+F.
Note: This type of verification takes into account the context in which the verified Adelia instructions are used.
Generate
This option opens a dialog box that lets you specify the generation parameters for the program in the active window, according to the generation code selected in the submenu:
RPG ( Batch or interactive programs)
Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+S.C Windows
Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+W.
SSG
This option opens the Screen sequencing graph for the program in the active window.
This option is only available for interactive Adelia programs.
Batch manager
This option opens a dialog box that lets you work with batch programs.
This option is only available for batch Adelia programs.
Layout manager
This option opens the Screen layout manager or Report layout manager, which respectively let you design and modify the screens or reports for the program in the active window.
It opens an intermediate dialog box, which is used to:
select a transaction, with interactive programs.
select a report, with batch programs.
Generate data flow
This option displays a message box, requesting confirmation before generating the data flow, then runs the data flow generation procedure for the data in the program in the active window.
Generate level 2
This option displays a message box, requesting confirmation before generating the level 2 code, then generates the level 2 prototype.
Note: The source will be modified when the data flow and/or level 2 code is/are generated.
