The Database management tool lets you simplify the deployment and day to day management of your databases, in particular those created by Adelia.
This tool is not intended as a substitute for proprietary tools in the case of complex database architectures. It lets you work with "simple" databases (DB2 SMS databases, the "standard" Oracle base structure, etc.).
The tool currently handles the following databases (depending on the licence and options installed):
DB2 databases (version 9.7 and later),
Oracle databases (version 11gR2 and later),
SQL Server databases (version 2008R2 and later),
MySQL databases (version 5.5 and later),
- PostgreSQL databases (version 10 and later).
To open the Database management tool, you must either:
Select the Database management tool option from the Visual/Web Runtime subfolder in the Adelia Studio folder.
Follow the procedure below:
- Click Start in the Windows task bar.
- Select the Execute option.
- Type the command DbTool in the "Open" field (or select the relevant command from the list if it has been executed before).
- Click OK.
Important: In the case of databases created with Adelia, you can open the Database management tool's various option windows directly, using the context-sensitive menus in Adelia or for environments and buffers.
The tool is set out as a multi-window wizard:
1. The operation selection window.
2. Windows for the various possible operations:
3. The log file management window.
4. The confirmation window.
5. The operation progress window.
