The Visual Adelia Layout Manager is in fact an extension of the 4GL Editor.
It is activated when you open the layout representing a WINDOW block in a VADELIA program source. The layout is designed using the 4GL Editor. Only the menu bar and the tool bar will be modified for layout design work.
Attention: In the Visual Adelia Layout Manager, a layout may occasionally be referred to as a window. In the files, we prefer to use the term layout.
The appearance of the layout manager may change slightly when you design the layout of a MADELIA program for a Pocket PC or Smartphone.
In this case, the layout manager shows an emulated representation of the target platform's screen, with a specific preview window, but the layout manager operates in exactly the same way as the conventional VADELIA manager.
No distinction is made between Visual Adelia and Adelia Mobile layouts in the rest of the layout manager documentation.
To access the Visual Adelia Layout Manager, select the Access layout option in the context-sensitive menu for a WINDOW block in the tree view of an active document in the 4GL Editor.
The layout representing the WINDOW block will be opened and become the active document in the 4GL Editor.
Layouts are treated in the same way as any other window in the 4GL Editor, and all the handlings possible with windows in the 4GL Editor are also valid with layouts.
