Access
To define a screen format's parameter and message fields, click the Message/parameter fields button of the Modify a screen format dialog box.
To define a subfile format's parameter fields, click the Parameter fields button of the Modify a subfile format (of a transaction) dialog box.
Important note: The definition of message fields is not valid for subfile formats.
Lists
Fields
List of parameter and message fields associated with the format. For each field, the following information is displayed: name (guide word), short name, length and number of decimals, use ("M" for message field, "P" for parameter field), possible conditioning indicator and description.

Buttons
Create
This button opens a dialog box which is used to create a parameter or message field.
Modify
This button opens a dialog box which is used to display or modify a parameter or message field's general characteristics.
This button is not active when no field is selected in the list.
Delete
This button deletes the selected fields.
This button is not active when no field is selected in the list.
Modify (validation)
This button validates the modifications made and closes the dialog box.
Cancel
This button closes the dialog box without validating the modifications made.
