Access

To display or modify the general characteristics of an interactive or batch program used in the SSG, double-click the corresponding program design on the graph.

 

Note: The program of a program template cannot be created in the SSG.

 

Data entry

Name

Name of the program.

This name must be a valid program name (as defined by IBM), unique among the names of programs in the environment.

Length: 15 characters.

Mandatory entry.

 

Description

Description clearly identifying the program.

Length: 50 characters.

Mandatory entry.

 

Layout code

Code of the Adelia layout.

Mandatory entry if the source is of "ADELIA" type.

 

IBM program name

Name of the IBM program.

This name must be a valid IBM program name (as defined by IBM), unique in the environment.

If this field is left blank, and if the sources type is "ADELIA", the layout code is retained as IBM program name.

If the source type is not "ADELIA", the first 10 characters of the program name are retained as IBM program name.

 

Source type

Source type of the program.

Default: "ADELIA".

 

Radio buttons

Visibility

The visibility of a program can be either public or private.

Only the owner of the program, or a software engineer with modification authorities, can change the visibility.

A public program cannot be changed into a private program if it is attached to more than one application area.

By default, the visibility is initialised as private.

 

Lists

Program template

List of program templates attached to the current application area.

However, only the program templates having the same type as the current program, and attached to all the application areas of this program, will be validated when the dialog box is closed.

Default: "None".

 

Formal parameters

List of formal parameters of the program.

Extended-selection list.

 

Buttons

User doc.

This button opens the Document Editor which is used to create or modify the user documentation of a program.

If the program is interactive and if the help type defined at the level of the layout standards is not OFFICE/VISION 400, there is no user documentation for the program, and the button is not active.

 

Technical doc.

This button opens the Document Editor which is used to create or modify the technical documentation of a program.

 

Information

This button opens a dialog box displaying information on the current program, such as the name of the software engineer-owner, the dates and times of creation and modification.

 

Comments

This button opens a dialog box for entering a comment text which will be associated with the current program.

 

Enter/Create/Modify (validation)

The Enter button (in display mode) closes the dialog box.

The Create button (in creation mode) or the Modify button (in modification mode) validates the dialog box.

The various fields of the dialog box are verified. If all are valid, the program definition is updated in the database before the box is closed; otherwise, an error message is displayed.

 

Cancel

This button closes the dialog box without validating the choices made.

Keyboard shortcut: Esc.
