To create or modify the general characteristics of a reception, you must either:
- Select the Create or Modify option from the context-sensitive menu in the Receptions window of the Exchange manager.
- Double-click a reception in the same window.
Displayed data
Name
This name is automatically assigned by the application and cannot be modified.
It is comprised of the date (YYYYMMDD) followed by the sequence number of the reception.
Data entry
Description
Description clearly identifying the reception.
Length: 250 characters maximum.
Mandatory entry.
Lists
Buffer name
Buffer where the reception comes from.
Owner of the objects received
Owner of the objects received and that do not exist in the receiving environment. The list includes the software engineers defined in the receiving environment.

Do not generate
When a reception involves objects from the conceptual level (conceptual entity or relationship objects) as well as objects that require the generation of the logical level (logical entity, join entity, program and task objects), the LDM sometimes has to be generated. The user specifies whether or not the LDM is to be generated, or whether the system should use the choice made when the sending was defined.
Buttons
Buffer
This button opens a dialog box which contains data relative to the contents of the buffer.
This button becomes active when a buffer is selected in the "Buffer name" field.
Information
This button opens a dialog box displaying information on the current reception, such as the name of the software engineer-owner, the dates and times of creation and modification.
Comments
This button opens a dialog box for entering a comment text which will be associated with the current reception.
Create/Modify (validation)
The Create button (in creation mode) or Modify button (in modification mode) validates the choices made and closes the dialog box.
Cancel
This button closes the dialog box without validating the choices made.
