Access

To display or modify the specific generation characteristics of a logical entity, click the Details button in the Logical entities tab of the LDM/PDM screen.

 

Note: This dialog box can also be accessed by clicking the Modify button in the logical entities generation dialog box.

 

Displayed data

Name

Name of the logical entity.

 

Description

Clear description of the logical entity.

 

Generation date

Last generation date and time.

 

Data entry

Physical file name

Name of the generated physical file.

Length: 10 characters maximum.

Default: first 8 characters of the logical entity name.

This field is dimmed and unavailable if the database type selected for the generation is not AS/400 native.

 

Logical file name

Name of the generated logical file.

This field is associated with a generation request of a physical file without key.

Length: 10 characters maximum.

Default: first 7 characters of the logical entity name, suffixed by the character "L".

This field is dimmed and unavailable if the database type selected for the generation is not AS/400 native.

 

Buttons

CRTPF

This button opens a dialog box which is used to configure the CRTPF command for creating physical files.

This button is dimmed and unavailable if the database type selected for the generation is not AS/400 native.

 

CRTLF

This button opens a dialog box which is used to configure the CRTLF command for creating logical files.

This button is dimmed and unavailable if the database type selected for the generation is not AS/400 native.

 

Information

This button opens a dialog box displaying information on the current logical entity, such as the name of the software engineer-owner, the dates and times of creation and modification.

 

Modify (validation)

This button validates the modifications made and closes the dialog box.

 

Cancel

This button closes the dialog box without validating the modifications made.

Keyboard shortcut: Esc.
