This page lets you work with the environments used in a version manager (production, correction or development environments).

It is displayed when the dialog box is called from this type of environment, or when a simple environment has been converted into a production environment.

Important: Only version manager administrators (with the *ADM_VER_MAN authority for the current environment) can make changes on this page.

Version manager environments

Lists

Environments in the version manager

List of environments in the current version manager, plus any associated correction environments (correction environments produced for other version managers, but which have the same source).

For each environment are displayed: the name and type (Production, Correction, Associated correction environment or Development) and, for a development environment or an associated correction environment, whether it is included by default in correction validations.

The first column contains the specific icons for the various environment types, and a checkbox for the associated correction environments.

A red cross through an icon means that the corresponding environment no longer exists, or is no longer catalogued on the workstation.

Check boxes

Checkboxes are only active if the current environment is a Production environment.

Associated correction environments

A checkbox is shown to the left of each associated correction environment, in the first column.

Checked

The relevant environment is available for use in a correction validation process.

Note: The production environment and development environments in the current version manager are always available for use in a correction validation process.

Dft

A checkbox is shown in the last column for each development environment and for each associated correction environment made available to be used in the correction validation, i.e. an environment with a box checked (see above).

Checked

The relevant environment will be selected by default to be used in any correction validation.

Context-sensitive menus

Environments in the version manager
Remove

Opens a dialog box that lets you remove an environment from the list.
This option is only active if a correction or development environment is selected in the list. It is only available in a production environment.

Convert to production

This option runs the process that converts the selected development environment into a production environment to form a new version manager.
It is only active if a development environment is selected in the list, and is only available in production environments.

Create

Opens a dialog box that lets you create a new environment using the data in the production environment.
The new environment can be a correction or development environment, which will be created in the current version manager.
Alternatively, it can be a production environment which will be used to build a new version manager.
This option is only available in production environments.

Refresh

This option analyzes the environments catalogued on the workstation. These environments are then displayed in the list.

Options in Correction Manager

These correction manager options are only visible when the current environment is "Correction" type.
