Access

To work with the functions in the current application area, select the Functions option in the 4GL Editor's Repository menu.

 

The dialog box will automatically be opened at the FNT tab.

 

Note: You can minimize the dialog box by double-clicking on the title bar, which will leave only the title bar visible.

 

Lists

Functions

List of the functions in the current application area, with their names and descriptions.

Extended-selection list.

You can sort the list in ascending or descending order of the values in a column by clicking the corresponding column heading.

 

Note: With correction environments, there may be a check mark in front of each function name.

- A red check mark indicates that the function is held by the default correction.

- A black check mark indicates that the function is held by a correction other than the default correction.

 

Context-sensitive menus

Function list
Retrieve

Where only one function has been selected, this option is used to insert its name into the source in the active document, at the cursor's current position.

This option is only active if one or more functions are selected from the list.

Default option.

 

Copy

Opens a dialog box that lets you copy the selected functions.

This option is only active if one or more functions are selected from the list.

 

Create

Opens a dialog box that lets you create a new function.

 

Modify

Opens a dialog box that lets you view or modify the characteristics of the selected functions.

This option is only active if one or more functions are selected from the list.

 

Delete

Opens a message box, asking you to confirm that you want to effectively delete the selected functions.

Once this option has been validated, the function list will be updated.

If a function is attached to other application areas, it will not be deleted, but will be detached from the current application area.

This option is only active if one or more functions are selected from the list.

 

Attach/Detach

Opens a dialog box that lets you select functions in the repository and attach them to the current application area, or else detach functions that have already been attached.

 

Hold

Opens a dialog box enabling the selected functions to be held by the default correction.

This option is only visible in correction environments. It is only active if one or more functions are selected in the list and the user has a default correction.
