The following options are available in the build component manager to display, create or change information defining a build component:
- Double-click on a component (for the Modify and Details options).
- Choose the Create, Modify or Details option from the Components menu.
- Choose the Create, Modify or Details option from the list of components contextual menu.
Note: For the Modify and Details options, select a component from the list first. According to the user's permissions, the available option is either Modify, or Details.

This interface is displayed in the form of a tab box:
- General tab: Access to the component's general characteristics (name, description, etc.).
- Type tab: Access to information which is specific to the component type such as application area or environment location for the Messages type or the list of associated objects for the Programs/Classes type.
- Dependencies tab: Access to the definition of the component's dependencies with other components.
Buttons
Enter/Create/Modify (validation)
The Enter button (in display mode) closes the dialog box.
The Create button (in creation mode) or Modify button (in change mode) validates the dialog box.
The information entered into the different tabs is checked. If it is all valid, the component definition is updated. If not, an error message is displayed.
Cancel
Closes the dialog box without validating any changes.
