This bar is located under the menu bar, and contains a number of options, in icon form, that can be used directly, with no need to open the corresponding menu.


Depending on the active document type, some of the options presented here may be missing from the toolbar.


Open

Opens the Open a source dialog box.

Save

Saves the source of the document in the active window.
If the document in the active window is a Visual Adelia program, the modified layouts for the program will also be saved.
If the document in the active window is a layout, the source of the corresponding window block will also be saved.

Print

Prints the source of the document in the active window, or the text in a text document.

Cut

Cuts the selected block and copies it to the clipboard. The selected block can be a section of text or a block in a tree view.

Copy

Copies the selected block to the clipboard The selected block can be a section of text or a block in a tree view.

Paste

Pastes the contents of the clipboard into the document in the active window.

Delete

Deletes the selected block. The selected block can be a section of text or a block in a tree view. In the latter case, either the block and its associated source code will be totally deleted, or else just the source will be deleted, depending on the type of block.

Cancel

Cancels the most recent action.

Redo

Restores the last cancelled action.

Change to remark

Converts all the selected elements to remarks.

Cancel remark

Converts all the selected elements to normal text.

Increase indent

Shifts the selected source x spaces to the right, where x is the size of a tabulation.

Decrease indent

Shifts the selected source x spaces to the left, where x is the size of a tabulation.

Toggle case

Toggles the case of the selected items.

If the Shift key is also pressed, the "Toggle code case" option is enabled.

Repository

Opens a dialog box used to work with the repository's objects.

Input help

Opens an input help dialog box for the program.

Verify program

Starts the program verification and displays the relevant report.

Generate program

Job manager

Starts (or puts in foreground) the job manager.

Verify source code

Starts immediately a quick verification of the source code.

This tool is not available if the 4GL Editor's option Dynamic source code verification is not active.

Back

Move back through the position log and source. Keyboard shortcut: Alt+LeftArrow

The source log contains the last cursor positions in the editor. You can, for example, use the Position on the definition option to quickly access the source of a procedure then use the Back option to return to the starting line. The log also enables you to browse among the open documents or reload a document that was closed in the meantime.

Forward

Move forward through the position log and source. Keyboard shortcut: Alt+RightArrow

Search

Displays a Windows system dialog box used to search for a character string.

The related combo box lets you type a string directly or select one of the most recent search strings.

If a block of text is selected in the active document (e.g. source code or help text), pressing the Ctrl+F3 key combination displays the selection in the input field and starts the string search automatically.

By default, the most recent search string is displayed when a program is opened.
