The details below are displayed when the selection of data to be transferred concerns delimited ASCII files, in the last selection box of the Data copy tool.

 

Source

This panel is displayed when the data source is a set of delimited ASCII files.

 

Data entry

Directory

Directory containing the data files.

Enter the full path or click the "…" button to display a Windows system dialog box that lets you select a directory.

Mandatory entry.

 

Filter

Display filter for the files (in the 'file system' sense).

Default: " *.del ".

 

Check boxes

Convert OEM/ANSI

Check this box if the file's code page is the machine's OEM (DOS) code page.

Default: Not checked.

 

Lists

String delimiter

Character used to separate string type values in the file.

 

Field delimiter

Character used to separate fields in the file.

 

Decimal symbol

Character used to represent the decimal point in numerical values.

 

Buttons

This button opens a Windows system box that lets you select a directory.

 

Destination

This panel is displayed when the data's destination is a set of delimited ASCII files.

 

Data entry

Directory

Directory in which the data files are to be produced.

Enter the full path or click the "…" button to display a Windows system dialog box that lets you select a directory.

Mandatory entry.

 

Check boxes

Fixed width

Checked

Data will be exported into a text file of fixed width (no delimiters).

Default: Not checked.

 

Dates in ISO format

Checked

DATE type fields will be stored in ISO format.

The tool recognizes two possible date formats:

Numerical

YYYYMMDD format.

ISO

'YYYY-MM-DD' string.

This behavior relates to the delimited ASCII format as specified in the DB2 documentation.

Default: Checked.

 

Convert OEM/ANSI

Checked

The data in the file will be converted in the machine's OEM (DOS) code page.

Default: Not checked.

 

Lists
