You can use this feature of the source comparison tool to compare the sources of a list of object names or generic names in two different environments.
To perform a global comparison, you must:
select the comparison elements, which can be:
- an exact or generic object name (e.g., A* for all object names beginning with A, or *MANAGEMENT* for all object names containing MANAGEMENT),
- an object type,
- an application area attachment restriction.
display the list of results obtained. The corresponding dialog box also lets you:
- ask the system to display the differences in the sources for each object,
- open the source in a 4GL editor session,
- add objects to a sending,
- add objects to an installation,
- assign objects for correction.
The other feature provided by the source comparison tool is the individual comparison.
