Procedure
In the "Type" tab of the Environment attributes dialog box in the production environment:
- Select the Create option from the context-sensitive menu.
- Enter the new environment's name. The name entered can be either a database name, or a URL containing a schema specification (SCHEMA/DATABASENAME). If a schema specification is provided, the database creation tool is launched in table creation mode on an existing database; else the tool is launched in new database creation mode.
- Select the new environment's type: "Correction environment" or "Development environment".
- Click the Create button.
The creation process comprises the following steps:
- The environment is created by copying the production environment's data.
- The environment is added to the version manager's environment list, at the production environment level.
- When the Environment attributes dialog box is closed, the environment list is propagated to all the environments in the list except the associated correction environments.
