The RAD_FORM graphical object and all its personalized graphical objects (i.e., all objects created using RADFORM.DLL) can only be used in a RAD template layout.
These objects are hereafter referred to as forms.
More than one form can be defined in a RAD template layout.
They are used for a program's Rapid Application Development to determine the places where graphical objects representing logical properties will be inserted.
A form defines two areas:
The text field area in which the logical property descriptions will be inserted,
The area in which the graphical objects representing the logical properties will be inserted.
The form's properties serve to:
Adjust the width of the text field according to its contents,
Define the space between the two areas (represented by the hatch line in the object drawing),
Adjust the form's width (to the right) and height (to the bottom) according to its contents when building programs using the RAD wizard. In this case, the layout's other objects will be moved accordingly to maintain the distance between them and the form.
When using the RAD wizard to build programs, the forms are not created; they can be replaced by a frame.
A form is not a graphical object like the others:
It can only be handled in a RAD template layout,
Its properties cannot be managed in the 4GL source code,
It does not have any events.
