The environment is Adelia's base unit. It is the physical representation of the repository. The repository is the information system's reference bank.

It contains all the objects defined in the system. Each object is defined only once in the repository, and can be attached to one or more application areas according to its visibility.

Adelia automatically generates and maintains the links between the definition of an object and its uses in the various application areas. Because objects only have a single definition in the repository, information systems described using Adelia are perfectly coherent.

Objects can be worked on, either from within the repository or from within a specific application area. The choice of access level (repository or application area) must be made before beginning work on the object.

First, you have to create an environment, which can then contain:

for which the various tools and features in Adelia will be called and used.
