This action amounts to creating a new version manager with the same source as the first. This means that the two version managers' correction environments will be associated correction environments.
Authorities required
The user must be the version manager's administrator (*ADM_VER_MAN authority).
Procedure
In the "Type" tab of the Environment attributes dialog box in the production environment:
- Select the Create option from the context-sensitive menu.
- Enter the new production environment's name. The name entered can be either a database name, or a URL containing a schema specification (SCHEMA/DATABASENAME). If a schema specification is provided, the database creation tool is launched in table creation mode on an existing database; else the tool is launched in new database creation mode.
- Check the "Production environment" radio button.
- Click the Create button.
The creation process comprises the following steps:
- A new production environment is created by copying the data from the initial production environment.
- The initial version manager's administrator also becomes the new version manager's administrator (with the *ADM_VER_MAN authority).
- The administrator must use the new production environment to create only one correction environment to complete the new version manager.
- In order to update the list of the version managers' environments and reveal the associated correction environments, the version manager administrator must refresh these lists in each of the version managers' production environments.
