To display or modify the specific format of a join entity, you need to either:
Select the Format option in the context-sensitive menu (or the equivalent button) in the Join entities tab.
Click the Format button of the Create/Modify a join entity dialog box.
The specific format of a join entity is comprised of logical properties assigned to the logical entities used by the join entity, and of IBM logical fields.

Join entity
Name of the join entity.
Description
Clear description of the join entity.
Data entry
Format name
Name of the format associated with the join entity.
Length: 10 characters maximum.
Mandatory entry.
Lists
Entities
List of logical entities forming the join entity.
Single-selection list.
Properties
List of logical properties of the entity selected in the previous list.
Dummy properties are not displayed since they cannot be part of a specific format.
In order to assign properties to the specific format, select them in the list and click the Assign button.
This list is empty when no entity is selected in the previous list.
Multiple-selection list.
Property / Entity (right-hand list)
List of all the logical properties forming the specific format.
The list displays the original entity of each listed property.

IBM logical field
List of the IBM logical fields of the join entity format.
Single-selection list.
Buttons
Assign
This button assigns the properties of the selected entity to the specific format. Assigned properties are displayed in the "Property" right-hand list.
Remove
This button removes from the specific format the properties selected in the PROPERTY / ENTITY list.
Properties used in a selection/omission, or in the access of a join entity, cannot be removed.
Create
This button opens a dialog box which is used to create IBM logical fields.
Modify
This button opens a dialog box which is used to display or modify the selected IBM logical fields.
This is not active when no IBM logical field is selected in the list.
Delete
This button deletes the selected IBM logical field.
This is not active when no IBM logical field is selected in the list.
Enter/Modify (validation)
The Enter button (in display mode) closes the dialog box.
The Modify button (in modification mode) validates the modifications made and closes the dialog box.
Cancel
This button closes the dialog box without validating the modifications made.
