During the correction validation process, it is now possible to automatically generate the executable and data files for program, error message, dictionary constant, logical entity and join entity type objects in the receiving environment.

This generation operation includes:

  • Generation of the PDM for the logical entities,

  • Generation of the PDM for the join entities,

  • Generation of the error message files,

  • Generation of the programs' executable files.

Important: These different generation procedures entail the creation of generation jobs in the receiving environment's job manager.
These jobs are created immediately after the reception of the objects concerned by the correction validation, and immediately before the "After Validation" EXIT program (if any) is run. The chronological order of EXIT program calls and other actions carried out in a correction validation process is provided in the EXIT Programs section.

In the case of a dictionary constant type received object, a specific job is created in the receiving environment's job manager. This job carries out re-extraction of all the constants in the dictionary (a task usually performed via the translation manager).

This job is created just after the objects concerned by the correction validation are received, immediately before the "After Validation" EXIT program (if any) is run.

The automatic generation option is activated in the "Type - Validation options" tab in the attributes of the correction environment where the validation is performed.

The parameters used to generate the PDM for the logical entities, error message files and ADELIA programs are shown during the validation analysis in the receiving environment.

VADELIA and SADELIA programs are generated using either the default parameters or those used the last time they were generated, and join entities are only generated as AS/400 files.
