To modify the properties of a graphical object, you must either:

  • Select the Properties option from the object's context-sensitive menu.

  • Double-click the object in the layout.

  • Select the Properties option from the context-sensitive menu of a graphical object in the tree diagram list in the Sequence the controls dialog box.

When only one object is selected in the layout, the properties of a graphical object are displayed on several pages:

To modify any of these pages, just click the relevant tab.

Attention: The graphical object properties dialog box uses tabs. The tabs in this dialog box will vary, depending on the graphical object selected.

The tabs mentioned here correspond to the Entry field graphical object.

When multiple objects are selected in the layout, any properties that are common to all the selected objects are presented as a list in a window that can be resized.

The properties' names are shown in the first column in the list, and their values in the second column.

When a property does not have the same value for all the selected objects, no values are shown and the corresponding cell is displayed with a pale yellow background.

When a property is irrelevant to one or more of the selected objects, no values are shown and the corresponding cell is displayed with a pale gray background.

When a property is selected, its name and Adelia type are shown at the bottom of the window if the property can be manipulated by programming.

If the value of a property cannot be changed (for example if the control is from a PGO for which the property is non-modifiable, or if the current value is the only possible relevant value), the value is shown in shaded text.

Properties relating to character fonts can be modified via a font selection box. This can be opened by clicking the button that appears when the appropriate cell gains focus.

Color properties can be modified either via the cell's list box, or by selecting the "More" option in the list.
