Use the function of the central environment to centralize data. When you define a peripheral environment, link it to the central environment.
Three data types are available:
Mixed data:
file glossary,
functions,
programs,
kinds,
macro-instructions,
etc.
You can use the data of the central environment but also create some in the peripheral environments.
Common data:
data dictionary.
The dictionary of the central environment is used.
Common or individual data:
message files.
You can choose to use either only one message file in the central environment or one message file per Development environment.
Only one level of hierarchy is allowed. The data in the central environment can only be modified by the environment itself.
