This function is used to create an attribute and its associated alphanumeric value for a given key in the registry. If the key does not already exist, it will be created. If the attribute already exists, the old value associated with it will be erased.

 

Context

  • Windows client,

  • Windows server.

 

Parameters

NUM_BIN_2

KeySet

Value describing the subset of keys stored in the registry.
Two key subsets are available:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT: value "0",
HKEY_CURRENT_USER: value "1",
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE: value "2",
HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG: value "3",
HKEY_USERS: value "4".

ALPHA(n)

KeyName

Path leading to the key in which the AttributeName attribute is to be written.
A path is a series of key names separated by "\" characters. Each key in the path will be a subkey of the key preceding it. The first key in the path will be the highest-level key in the specified key subset.

ALPHA(n)

AttributeName

Character string describing the attribute associated with the KeyName key .

ALPHA(Size)

AttributeValue

Result variable associated with the AttributeName attribute.

NUM_BIN_4

Size

Size of the AttributeValue variable.

BOOL

ReturnCode

Return code for the operation:

*TRUE   if the operation was successful.

*FALSE  if it was not.

AttributeName = 'Last_File_Opened'

AttributeValue = 'c:\application\file99.txt'
