To work with macro-instructions of the current application area, choose the Macro-instructions tab of the Object manager.
Important notes:
- It is now recommended to use the "PM" (Parameter) -class management rules rather than macro-instructions.
- Macro-instructions can only be used with ADELIA programs.
Lists
Macro-instructions
List of all the macro-instructions of the current application area.
By default, the macro-instructions are sorted in alphabetical order.
The sort sequence can be defined by clicking the column headers of the list.
A filter located above the list can be used to limit the macro-instructions displayed.
Extended-selection list.
With correction environments, there may be a check mark in front of each macro-instruction name.
A red check mark shows that the macro-instruction is being held by the default correction.
A black check mark shows that the macro-instruction is being held by a correction other than the default correction.
Context-sensitive menu
The following options are accessible at all times via the context-sensitive menu.
In addition, there may be buttons to perform the same actions on the right-hand side of the window, depending on the settings in the Create/Modify a software engineer dialog box's Preferences tab.
Create
This option opens a dialog box which is used to create a macro-instruction.
Modify
This option opens a dialog box which is used to display or modify the general characteristics of the selected macro-instruction.
It is not active when no macro-instruction is selected in the list.
Delete
This option deletes the selected macro-instructions, after confirmation.
When the deletion is validated, the list of macro-instructions is updated accordingly.
If a macro-instruction is attached to other application areas, it is not deleted but is detached from the current application area.
This option is not active when no macro-instruction is selected in the list.
This option prints the description of the selected macro-instructions.
The description mentions all the characteristics of the macro-instruction, its system information, its management rules, and its comment text.
The printing job is submitted to the Job manager.
This option is not active when no macro-instruction is selected in the list.
Attach
This option opens a dialog box which is used to attach macro-instructions from the repository to the current application area.
Detach
This option detaches the selected macro-instructions from the current application area.
It is not active when no macro-instruction is selected in the list.
App. areas
This option opens a dialog box displaying the various application areas to which the selected macro-instruction is attached.
It is not active when no macro-instruction is selected in the list.
4GL Editor
This option opens the 4GL source Editor for the selected macro-instruction.
It is not active when no macro-instruction is selected in the list.
Hold
This option opens a dialog box enabling the selected macro-instructions to be held by the default correction.
This option is only visible in correction environments.
It is only active when one or more macro-instructions are selected in the list and the user has a default correction.
