Access
To create a new agent, select the New option from the
Agents menu
.
To modify an agent, select the relevant agent from the list, then select the Modify option from the
Agents menu
.
Information entered
Name
Name of the agent.
This name must be unique (two agents with the same name cannot exist in the Job manager).
This information cannot be modified once the agent has been created.
Description
Description of the agent.
Free text.
Startup mode
Start mode of the agent.
Possible values:
Manual |
The agent is started at the request of a user. |
Automatic |
The agent is started automatically when the Job manager starts. |
Disabled |
The agent is deactivated, it cannot be started. |
Number of automatic restarts
Maximum number of automatic restarts in the event of failure.
If this value is set to zero, the agent will not be restarted automatically.
Target machine
Name of the Job manager that is to run the agent. If this value is not filled in, all Job managers could potentially run the agent (it is therefore not possible to predict which Job manager will run the agent in the case of automatic start mode).
Program
Name of the agent program.
It must be a DLL (as is the case for a "host" job).
First parameter
Second parameter
First and second parameters of the processing program.

Buttons
Enter
This button confirms the information entered, then closes the dialog box.
Keyboard shortcut: Enter.
Cancel
This button closes the dialog box without confirming the information entered.
Keyboard shortcut: Esc.
