Conversion site

Conversion site used to convert between EBCDIC and ASCII data types while connected to the AS/400.

There are two possible settings:

*LOCAL

The EBCDIC/ASCII conversions will be performed on the client machine (PC).

*REMOTE

The EBCDIC/ASCII conversions will be performed on the server (AS/400).

Note: We recommend using the *LOCAL conversion site, in order to avoid overloading the server (AS/400); nevertheless, the *REMOTE conversion site can prove useful with less powerful PCs.
