During communications between Adelia Studio and an AS/400, Adelia automatically converts ANSI/ASCII characters into EBCDIC characters and vice-versa.

However, certain special characters (EBCDIC 5B, 7B and 7C) that are used to define IBM "valid names" on the AS/400, may have different transcriptions depending on the EBCDIC codepages.

The transcription of these characters is stored in the ADELIWS.INI file of the Adelia Studio installation directory.

In the Adelia Studio English version, this file contains characters corresponding to the EBCDIC codepage equal to 037 (USA), i.e. "$", "#" and "@".

If your AS/400 codepage is different (see the QCHRID system value), then you must change those three characters. Please refer to the following table to determine what codes you have to enter:

Example: If you have the code page 500 or 1148 for your AS/400 you must take the characters "$", "#" and "@"

Note: Those characters are used interactively throughout Adelia Studio.
