Working with the Files in an Installation - the 'Files Deduced' Tab (Java Variants)

Lists

Program/Resource name

List of all the client and server parts of the programs assigned to the current installation, according to what has been specified in the variant definition dialog box,

and

List of resources assigned to the installation or list of programs in the case of Adelia Web installations.

The columns show:

• • whether or not the part is to be included (Included column checked/unchecked),

  • whether it is a program (VADELIA, WADELIA or SADELIA program name) or a resource,

  • which part it is (CLIENT with client parts, and the logical server suffix with server parts),

  • the path to the objects for a Windows, Java or Mobile type variant.

  • with Windows variants, the subtree structure: it is a subdirectory to be created during the installation procedure, into which the relevant objects will be copied,

  • with Java variants, the generated object package,

  • the library of AS/400 server modules generated, for an AS/400 type variant,

  • the location of the related JSPs.

Extended-selection list.

By default, the subtree is empty, because files are copied into the installation directory root.

When this is an AS/400 server part, the objects are transferred to the Windows machine in the form of an AS/400 save file (SAVFILE). This latter is compressed inside the ".CAB" file located in the destination directory.

If the variant contains only a client part, then only the client resources are listed in production (ditto for a server variant).

Similarly, in a Windows variant, only the Windows client, Window server and Java server resources are visible; in a Java variant, only the Java client, Java server and Windows server resources are visible.

Context-sensitive menus

Include

This option checks the Included column. The relevant item will be included in the installation.

Exclude

This option unchecks the Included column. The relevant item will not be included in the installation.

Modify

This option opens a dialog box that lets you specify a subdirectory into which the file will be copied.

This option is only active with Windows variants.
