Client/Server configuration

Access

To access the server machine's setup, open a SHELL session (MS/DOS session in Windows) and enter the following command:

"JAVA com.hardis.adelia.configuration.CfgSetup [-Dadelia.middleware.cert=certFile] /S [Directory]"

where:

    • JAVA is the name of the virtual Java machine installed on the workstation;
    • [Directory] is the optional full name of the directory containing the configuration file to be created or modified.

The "JAVA com.hardis.adelia.configuration.CfgSetup [-Dadelia.middleware.cert=certFile] /S [Directory]" command creates a configuration file MWSERVER.INI.

If the MWSERVER.INI file is not present in this directory, a Windows system dialog box will open, letting you select a directory.

When the server machine setup is defined in this directory, the directory selection system dialog box is not opened.

Note:

The "Enable strong encryption" option in the main menu is used to enable strong file encryption. This option disappears if the mode is already enabled. When enabling, the configurator encrypts all the passwords with the public key specified in the parameter.

Important: the certificate file used for encryption must be specified in the command line in the same way as for the daemon in TLS mode (see Middleware operating in TLS mode for details). If there is no certificate, the database and user passwords will be AES encrypted.

Java servers

The configuration file (MWSERVER.INI) that will be created need not necessarily be included in the PATH environment variable.

However, it must be specified in the CfgConfiguration.properties file, which must in turn be included in the Classpath of the machine on which the Java Middleware daemon is run.

The configurator parameters for server machines are set out on two pages:

To modify either of these pages, just click the relevant tab.

Click the right mouse button on the list in the active tab to display a context-sensitive menu.

A main menu will remain active, whatever tab you are currently working on.
