Access
To create an error message by copying an existing message, select the Copy option in the context-sensitive menu for the error message list in the 4GL Editor's Repository - Error messages dialog box.
The level 1 and 2 messages and substitute variables will be copied.
Data entry
Prefix
When the dialog box is opened, this field will contain the copied message's prefix.
Enter the prefix for the new message, if different from the one shown.
The prefix must be no longer than 3 characters.
Number
Number of the new error message. This must not already have been used with the same prefix.
It must be no longer than 4 digits.
Description
When the dialog box is opened, this field will contain the description of the copied message.
Enter the description of the new message.
Buttons
Copy
Creates the new message and closes the dialog box.
Cancel
Closes the dialog box without validating the information entered.
