Access
To assign and /or attach programs to a task, select the Assign/Attach option in the context-sensitive menu (or the equivalent button) in the Programs tab of the Object manager.
The dialog box displays the list of programs assigned to the task. The programs assigned to the current application area are indicated with an asterisk (*).
It also displays the list of available programs which can be assigned to the task.
You should note that:
- VADELIA, SADELIA, and WADELIA programs cannot be assigned to SRVPGM tasks.
- Programs whose IBM name exceeds 10 characters or with an output parameter cannot be assigned to conventional tasks.
- A program can only be assigned to a single SRVPGM task.
- Programs that are assigned to an SRVPGM task do not appear any more in the program list in the Object manager's Programs tab, unless the tab is called from the task management tab.
- The programs which are dimmed cannot be deleted or de-assigned. They can however be modified provided the software engineer has the adequate modification authorities.
- If the software engineer does not have modification authorities, he will only be able to display the list of assigned programs and will not be able to use the action buttons. In this case, the list of available programs will be empty.

Lists
Assigned
List of all the programs assigned to the task in the current application area.
The programs assigned to the current application area are indicated with an asterisk (*).
Extended-selection list.
Available
List of all the programs available in the current application area, and which can be assigned to the task.
A filter located above the list can be used to limit the programs displayed.

Buttons
Assign
This button transfers the selected programs from the list of available programs to the list of assigned programs.
This button is not active when no program is selected in the list of available programs.
De-assign
This button moves the selected programs from the list of assigned programs to the list of available programs.
This button is not active when no program is selected in the list of assigned programs.
Important: It is impossible to de-assign a program whose IBM name is over 10 characters long, or if it has an output parameter from the moment that this program is not assigned to an SRVPGM task with prototype.
Create
This button opens a dialog box which is used to create a program.
The programs thus created are added to the list of assigned programs so that they are assigned to the task when the box is validated (unless they are previously de-assigned).
Modify
This button opens a dialog box which is used to display or modify the general characteristics of the selected program.
This button is not active when no program is selected in the list of assigned programs.
Delete
This button opens a message box which is used to confirm the final deletion of the selected programs.
When the deletion is validated, the list of programs is updated accordingly.
This button is not active when no program is selected in the list of assigned programs.
Attach
Opens a dialog box that lets you attach to the current application area the objects selected in the list of assigned programs. An asterisk is added.
This button is not active when no program is selected in the list of assigned programs.
App. areas
Opens a dialog box displaying the various application areas to which the selected program is attached.
This option is only active if one or more programs is selected in the list of assigned programs.
Enter/Modify
The Enter button (in display mode) closes the dialog box.
The Modify button (in modification mode) validates the modifications made and closes the dialog box.
The programs thus created or moved from one list to another are actually assigned or de-assigned in the database.
Cancel
This button closes the dialog box without validating the modifications made.
Keyboard shortcut: Esc.
Attach
This option opens a dialog box which is used to attach to the current application area one or several programs already assigned to an SRVPGM task.
Programs that are assigned to an SRVPGM task do not appear any more in the program list in the Object manager's Programs tab, unless the tab is called from the task management tab.
