This horizontal bar runs across the bottom of the screen, and contains the following details concerning the active window, running from left to right:

  • Information (number of errors and warnings) that comes from the dynamic source code verification. Note that it is possible to move from an error to another in the source code using the shortcut keys F8 and Ctrl+F8.
  •  A message from the 4GL Editor or information on the cursor position, showing how the blocks are nested if the document in the active window is set out in tree diagram form.
  • The software engineer's name.

  • The current zoom (Visual Adelia text documents and layouts).

Note: You can select a predefined value from the list or specify a custom zoom factor between 20% and 400%.

  • The authorities for the source

    • if the pencil is not struck out, the text in the document will be modifiable (write authority);
    • if the pencil is struck out, the text in the document will not be modifiable (read only authority).

Note: Double-clicking on the icon reverses the permissions when this is possible. For example, if the source is not modified, it can be set to read-only to make it available to another user or write permissions can be recovered (if the source is available or by adding it to the default correction).

  • Automatic case (aA)
    • if aA is highlighted, the 4GL code will be automatically entered in upper case (apart from comments and text constants).
    • if aA is not highlighted, the L4G source is entered normally according to the keyboard system settings.
      This mode is enabled by default for Adelia sources and disabled for the others.
  • Overtype/Insertion mode (OVR)

    • if OVR is highlighted and the cursor appears as a filled square: overtype mode is active;
    • if OVR is not highlighted and the cursor resembles a letter "I": insertion mode is active.

Note: To switch between insertion mode and overtype mode, press the "Insert" key on your keyboard.

  • The line number (Li:)

gives the number of the line under the cursor, if the document in the active window is set out in line form.

Note: Double-clicking in this field displays a box for selecting a line number in order to move around the source.

  • The column number (Co:)

gives the number of the column under the cursor, relative to the left margin.
