To generate logical entities, click the Entity generation from the context-sensitive menu in one of the following dialog boxes:
Maintenance manager, Results (1 and 2) or Storage tab.
Define a correction, in the Correction manager.

Radio buttons
Database
The file will be generated directly in the database.
This button only appears if the generation type is not AS/400.
Generic script
The file will be generated as a generic script file.
This button only appears if the generation type is not AS/400.
SQL script
The file will be generated as an SQL script file.
This button only appears if the generation type is DB2, Oracle or SQL Server.
Data entry
File
Name of the generated script file.
Data entry is only possible if the generation type is not AS/400 and either the "Generic script" or "SQL script" radio button is selected.

Generation parameters
This button opens a dialog box which is used to modify the generation parameters of logical entities.
It is active only if the generated database type is "AS/400 native" or "Btrieve"; see the "Work with databases" section above.

List of all the logical entities in the current application area.
Extended-selection list.
For each logical entity, the following is mentioned:
Entity
Name of the logical entity.
Physical
Name of the physical file which will be generated.
Logical
Name of the logical file generated when the Generation with key box is not checked.
Description
Description of the entity.
Buttons
Details
This button opens a dialog box which is used to display or modify the specific generation characteristics of a logical entity.
It is not active when no logical entity is selected in the list.
Generate
This button starts the Physical Data Model generation for each entity selected in the list.
It is not active when no logical entity is selected in the list.
Enter
This button closes the dialog box.
