To display or modify the use characteristics of a logical property, you must either:
choose the Characteristics option from the context-sensitive menu of a logical property in the Logical properties dialog box.
or double-click on a logical property.
Displayed data
Name
Guide word of the current property.
Description
Description of the current property.
Length
Length of the current property.
Decimals
Number of decimal places of the current property.
This field is only visible for numeric properties.
Format
Format of the logical entity, specified in the Access to a logical entity dialog box, used to create or modify the access to a logical entity.
Lists
Mode
Use modes for the logical property.
Values available: Not used, Input, Output, Input/Output, Hidden.
Default: "Not used".
Data entry
Sequence
Sequence number of the logical property in the format.
This field is protected when the logical property is not used.
Length
Length of the logical property on the screen (or on the report). If the length specified here is shorter than the logical property's length, its value may be truncated when the program is run.

This field is protected if the logical property is not used.
Buttons
More formats
This button opens a dialog box which is used to select additional formats in order to place the logical property.
This button is not active when the logical property is not used.
Modify (validation)
This button validates the modifications made and closes the dialog box.
Cancel
This button closes the dialog box without validating the modifications made.
