Access
To display the restrictions affecting a basic type, click on the name of an input parameter (shown in blue and underlined in the operation list) in the Modify a Web service dialog box.
The only restrictions are those specified from among the list of possible restrictions below.
Data displayed
Length
Alpha type.
The type is subject to a length-based restriction. The length must be invariable and match the specified value.
Min length
Alpha type.
The type is subject to a length-based restriction. The length must be greater than or equal to the specified value.
Max length
Alpha type.
The type is subject to a length-based restriction. The length must be less than or equal to the specified value.
Space
Alpha type.
The type is subject to a space management-based restriction. Data relating to special interpretations of space characters.
Min value inc (minimum value included)
Numerical type.
The type is subject to a value-based restriction. The length must be greater than or equal to the specified value.
Min value ex (minimum value excluded)
Numerical type.
The type is subject to a value-based restriction. The length must be greater than the specified value.
Max value inc (maximum value included)
Numerical type.
The type is subject to a value-based restriction. The length must be less than or equal to the specified value.
Max value ex (maximum value excluded)
Numerical type.
The type is subject to a value-based restriction. The length must be less than the specified value.
Total digits
Numerical type.
The type is subject to restriction based on the number of digits. The number of digits must match the specified value.
Fraction
Real type.
The type is subject to restriction based on the number of decimals. The number of decimals must match the specified value.
Mask
Alpha type.
The type is subject to a value-based restriction. The string must be compatible with the specified mask.
Enumeration
The type is subject to a value-based restriction. The value must belong to the specified list of values.
