This approach is used for applications where the standard management module has already been used to define their resolution method in the knowledge base. Where this is the case, the expert system guides the software engineer toward the solution by asking a set of questions and building the application according to the answers given by the developer.
All standard programs such as basic file updates, queries, header/line updates, etc., can be developed using this procedure. This system produces applications in 4GL code; if necessary, the developer can always use the 4GL Editor to add to and maintain applications built in this way.
