To place on the screen the repository variables which were previously stored in the transaction album, choose the Place - Variables option from the Edit menu of the Screen layout manager.

List of all the variables gathered in the transaction album.
Select the variables to be placed on the screen layout. If several variables are selected, they will be placed in turn, according to their sequence in the list.

Check one of these radio buttons to specify the variable mode in the transaction.
Variable only

Column heading
Depending on the button checked, the variable will be placed:
alone, without a description;
with its description placed before it;
with its column heading placed above.

Place (validation)
This button places the selected variables on the screen, according to the specified mode.
When all the selected variables have been placed, the dialog box is automatically reopened in order to select other variables to be placed, if any.
If the location selected to place the variable (and, possibly, its description or its column heading) is not correct, the system will reject this placing.
The variables newly placed have their "Placed" column checked.
Note that each variable is always preceded by an attribute character, which is invisible, but occupies the position of the character located on the immediate left of the variable.
This button is not active when no variable is selected in the list.
Cancel
This button closes the dialog box without validating the placing.
