Important note: The options contained on the Agents menu of the menu bar are the same as the options contained in the context menu in the Agents tab of the Job manager window.
- If the option can be selected directly on the toolbar, the corresponding icon is displayed.
- As a rule, you must have administrator permissions for the Job manager in order to manage the agents.
New
This option opens a dialog box that allows you to create a new agent.
Modify
This option opens a dialog box that allows you to modify the selected agent.
Delete
This option deletes the selected agents.
When an agent is deleted, the report associated with this agent is also deleted.
You cannot delete an agent while it is running.
Start
This option starts the agent.
Stop
This option sends a stop notification to the agent. It differs from the Kill option in that a configurable wait time is defined for the agent to allow it complete its job and shut down correctly.
Kill
This option interrupts the execution of the selected agents straightaway, regardless of whether they are running locally or on another machine. It also terminates all secondary processes that may have been started by the agent.
Show report
This option opens the processing report for the agent in a text editor.
Delete report
This option opens a dialog box that allows you to delete a part of the agent report.
Refresh
This option instantly updates the job queues.
Note: in the context menus, options that are not applicable are greyed out.
For example, it is not possible to start an agent that is already active.
